ASPHALTS
Asphalt is a black, viscous, compact bituminous substance. Its chemical composition includes several chains of molecules, primarily carbon, oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen, hydrogen, among others.
It is a waterproof and adherent material derived from petroleum, ideal for pavement construction. When its temperature is higher, its viscosity is lower, constituting a very durable binder and waterproofing material.
This product can be combined with various improvement processes carried out in our production plant, in order to highlight the properties demanded by our clients.
- Refinery asphalt: Asphalt 60 – 70 from the Ecopetrol refinery.
- Standardized asphalt: Standardized asphalt starts from the refinery asphalt and is subjected to a plant process in order to adjust its penetration according to the requirement and need of our client. Among the most demanded are: 40-50, 60-70, 80-100.
- Standardized asphalts with adhesion promoter: asphalt cement added with a latest generation product, improving its adhesion properties with aggregates.
- Modified asphalts: they are asphalts worked in our production plant through a polymer modification process, in order to improve their mechanical characteristics, such as their resistance to deformation by weather or traffic.
APPLICATIONS:
It is used as a binder or binder in asphalt mixes for the construction and maintenance of roads, tracks or highways.
It is used to waterproof the structure of the pavement, making it little sensitive to humidity and effective against the penetration of water from rain, water seepage or precipitation.
It allows the union and cohesion between aggregates and fines, being able to resist the separation or disaggregation of the material produced by the loads and weights of the vehicles.
